Conklin: UT job a 'no-brainer'

The jury is still out as to whether this was a good hire but it certainly looks promising from outside looking in. He appears to be a quality guy, a team player and willing to learn. Often that works out better than a know it all coach comming in setting his personal agenda ignoring the established process.

I agree with ol dad that it's too early to judge his (or other coaches') abilities. The other guys may have had some other motive than fear for leaving: going back home (Wilcox & Sirmon), regaining the fullness of their previous job description (Joseph), frustration with being passed over too many times and maybe feeling they had better promotional chances elsewhere (Thompson), maybe being fired (Baggett). Tough to know if they ain't talkin'.

Big question is can he recruit.
