I like Martin a lot, but I don't see it. I don't see Tennessee sweeping the next 4. LSU is going to be tough on the road.

People on both sides of that little verbal joust knew what was going on--media trying to bait CCM into saying either he thought we had no chance or that he still thought we could get in, either way to create a headline--but precisely b/c CCM knew that, too, we can wonder whether he was trying to inspire the troops, which tends to go against "one game at a time," or was actually just telling the truth. I tend toward the latter. Unlikely, but win the last four and make it to the finals of the SEC tourney, and it's at least a realistic possibility, depending on what other "bubble" teams do. In that situation, though, knowing what the media guys want, I'd probably give the ol' Belichick dunce routine a run. "We'll just, you know, play the games and see what happens." [shrug shoulders, speak in monotone, through a semi-blank stare, as if my last name is Gump] In general, I can't stand Belichick, but I'll admit I looooove the way he answers questions at pressers. I'd actually pay for a "best of" DVD. He must drive the Boston media crazy, but it's like a Stephen Wright comedy routine. BP just wasn't that kinda guy, but I think CCM could pull it off w/a straight face.

While we suck on the road we have shown well on .a neutral court. If we did the above scenario we would be over 20 wins which def deserves a look. Although our bad wins and RPI are not going to help is at all. We need some teams on our schedule to make some runs too

I have believed all along that our Vols stand a better chance of winning the tournament than to win out the season. A tourney atmosphere is completely different in that the season stats are washed away and everything can start over mentally.
I think our talent and play is as good as anyone's in the conference, except maybe Kentucky. Even then, I think we could beat the wildcats 2 out of 5 games. GBO!

If the five games series was the 2-2-1 format the BO might win the third game because it would be at home but 2 out of five Kentucky has to many atheletes to take down in a 5 game seiries they are more often to get beat in the one and done scenario, how often in any tournament do you see the favorite get knocked off by the underdog especially in the NCAA tournament, I love the Vols but the only big orange who could handle Kentucky in a 5 game series is Syracuse, I hope I get to see this during the NCAA tournament very intersting Kentucky has no shooters and Syracuse plays that boring zone and they have the bigs to match up with Kentucky would be very interesting game to observe
