Coach Cuonzo Martin’s Vols (12-7, 3-3 SEC) host Coach Andy Kennedy’s Rebels (14-5, 3-1) at 8 p.m. EST in a game that will be broadcast by SEC TV.
The Rebels, led as always by senior sharpshooter Marshall Henderson, blasted Mississippi State in Oxford over the weekend, while the Vols were blasted by sixth-ranked Florida in Gainesville.
Ole Miss enters tonight’s game by itself in second place in the SEC standings, while the Vols are tied with Alabama, Mississippi State and Texas A&M for seventh place — but could be tied for fourth with a win and a Georgia home loss to Vanderbilt.
Henderson, who went wild to lead the Rebels to a two-game sweep of the Vols last season, is averaging 18.7 points per game this season and is third nationally and first in the SEC with 4.19 3-pointers per game. Henderson, known as much for his polarizing antics as his prolific scoring, has hit at least one 3-pointer in 52 consecutive games.
Updates and analysis from tonight’s game, as well as quotes and notes from postgame interviews with players and coaches from both teams, will be included in this thread.
Got a question? Or just a comment? This thread is the place for both.
