Junior wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson was among Tennessee's most impressive newcomers Friday night during the first official practice for the Vols' first-year players.

Many of UT’s newcomers looked understandably lost at times Friday during their first official practice with the Vols. But some of them still impressed coach Derek Dooley.

Nice to hear the comments from CDD on Coleman. Sounds like he is much more comfortable than we are about the CB situation, which is great to hear. He also seems pretty pleased about how Big Dan showed up for camp. He will influence the line of scrimmage like nothing we've ever seen, IMO.

Great stuff Ryan +1. CP looks like a mix between a DE and OLB...WOW!...if he can run routes and catch. DM is going to be hard for OL's to move in the middle. He has legs that look like Oak Trees. If he learns the position and technique he will be a monster.

Articles like this just get me more hyped for the upcoming season. Was eating lunch with a few friends today and one mentioned to watch out for UT in a few years. Before I could respond he then added that it could very well be this year. Don't know how well they will be yet I expect UT to surprise some teams this year. The quality of depth has improved so much since 2010 plus the potential of the offense is just scary.

Happened to notice in some of the video they are also running a version of the veer also. Not just Lane. Etc. but the QB's were also practicing fake handoff's with pitch outs. Hmmmm..
