I agree. IMO there is too much talent on that o-line and in that back field to be that poor again this year. Maybe the new coaches will bring a fresh approach and effective techniques that jumpstart the running game.

I still say that out of everything that happened last season, the running game was by far the most disappointing thing to me. For those of you who listen to Swain and Rucker, you most likely heard their debate the other day over the cause of the horrible rushing game. I called in and pointed out that there were very few changes from 2010 to 2011 other than the fact that Moor, Jones, and Stocker were all gone. Outside of that, there really wasn't that big of a change.
Swain kind of echoed what CJC says in this article. Basicly it came down to our O-line didn't get as nasty as they needed to get. I actually think there's more to it than that, and in truth I think CDD said it best when he stated in his setdown with Wes, that everything and everyone played a part in that "gross" ground game.
I really don't care what the cause was, just so long as they fix it.

Very encouraging indeed. The talent is there at WR. They will get there Big plays. But if we can't move people and pick up 3 to 5 yards on 1st down we won't beat Florida, Bama, UGA, or S.Carolina. Week 1 will tell a lot. It did last year. Montana pushed our O-line around. If we don't run the ball for 150+ yards against a crappy NC State D-Line it will be a long year.

I'm glad fixing the running game is a top priority. I still hope they don't focus so much on that they botch up pass protection. That was outstanding last year, especially compared to 2010, and we're gonna need it this coming year.

How quickly we forget the Florida game...The Vols pass protection in that game wouldn't have been effective against Vance Middle School and Florida was very beatable. The Vols made the Gators look like the New York Giants Defensive Line.

Your crazy..I dont guess you noticed that Florida has 3 future NFL lineman and great depth..Our O-line wasnt ready for all Muschamp threw at us..Bray was running around all over the place and sacked I think 4 or 5 times AND Hunter went down early...plus all the little things like Stone still not being 100% right handed snapping, working freshman and a new guard in probably didnt help things..but in the 2nd half they did hold their own so you cant totally blame the o-line..just saying

I guess giving up four sacks, six plays for loss and six Quarterback hurries is holding your own? Not to mention the countless ground ball snaps and a total of nine yards rushing. The Gators Defensive line was pretty young as well if you recall and Muschamp's first season wasn't all that great against teams other than Tennessee....All those excuses that you brought up won't take us very far in the SEC....just saying
