Offensive tackle Brett Kendrick of Christian Academy of Knoxville (Tenn.), who's rated a three-star prospect by 247Sports, has been committed to Tennessee since June.

Tennessee offensive line commitment Brett Kendrick began to explore other options following coach Derek Dooley's firing, but he says he's no longer listening to other teams.

Well don't know how good this kid can be at the SEC level, but I'm glad to hear a recruit wants to be a vol. (Even if he is from Knoxville). GBO

Reading some of the comments about Pittman staying lead me to believe that the new coach has already been hired. In fact based upon what Graham told Turman, reportedly, I wouldn't be surprised if the powers that be knew or had a pretty good idea who they were hiring immediately after the Missouri loss.
I will change my mind if I read that Sunseri is telling recruits that he has a good chance of staying. Until then, the comments from the coaches to the recruits sound more like verbal winks than BS or even wishful thinking.

ryan i have a god friend whose son is a walk on.according to her the rumor/word going around the team is gruden is a done deal and the rest of this search is just window dressing per-say.with hart comments about it not gonna be long now and what jg and sp are telling recruits do you not think that possibly this is true?add to this the fact that gruden has been gauging assistant coaches interest in joining him do you think that maybe he is just trying to put together most of his staff before making a official announcement?she said her son told her to expect a announcement soon.

The AD could certainly require the new coach to honor particular commitments.

Why would Hart force a new coach to keep players who may or may not be a fit for his offensive/defensive schemes?

I would like to see us get a coach that comes in and evaluates the talent that we have on hand. Then try to RUN an offense around the talent that we have. Not try to fit a square peg in a round hole. We have division 1 talent, it may not rival Alabama talent at every position but we do have talent. Get the talent the ball and play Vol football. Dooley and company created a base and now we go from there. Get some guys on the line that can get up field and keep the O-line off of our backers. We have LBs covering WR/Slot recievers. We need bruisers not cruisers. I wished everyone would lay off of Sal Sunseri. The guy had only one year to prove himself, we know he knows what he is doing. We have the O-line to do it. Lane and Neal are looking good. Lane looked like he was surprised to be able to get that 45 yd run. Put a fullback in front of him and let those guys eat yardage. Im finished thanks for listening.

I love the young men who want to play for the UT Vol's and not a certain coach. We know those are the recruits that bleed orange and will give their all to getting us back to where we belong.
