Four-star junior linebacker Rashaan Evans of Auburn (Ala.) High School is ranked the No. 133 overall prospect and No. 9 outside linebacker in the 247Composite for the 2014 class.

A junior linebacker from Auburn, Ala., who already holds more than 20 offers says attending Tennessee's junior day Saturday left him with a high opinion of the Vols.

looks like this kid could grow into a big middle linebacker, like the fact that he seems real close to Thigpen, hopefully we can get him.
It does not help that we are the what? 21st team to offer him a scholly? wish we could have gotten on him sooner and been in that top 4.

Didn't know about the UT offer earlier.
The kid is what 17/18 6'3 214?? You don't think that he could grow another inch or two and put on 15-20 lbs? His speed might be compromised at that size in coverages, lateral movement etc.... just thinking ahead to next fall, this kid might be alot bigger than he is now, and he has a good frame on him now.

Not sure how recent this might be, but we have him listed as being timed at 4.47 seconds in the 40-yard dash at some point. That's the kind of speed — along with his not-too-bulky frame — that usually belongs at outside linebacker in a 4-3 defense.

time will tell what position he ends up playing at the next level....He has 18 months until he would be on a college field, he just might gain a pound or two call me crazy, might grow an inch, again call me nuts.

Knoxville is a lot larger than Auburn, AL. No place to hide there when a local produce leaves for the enemy. This will be a very tough pull if we can get it done. I would worry more if he were to commit early and give the home town folks too much time to flip him.

I wonder how much the current staff shows highlights of former Tennessee defenses vice former Cincy defenses since that is the only real sampling they have of a Jancek defense. I love that Thigpen developed such a great relationship and hopefully this kid decides it is worth becoming a Vol.

It's neat that recruit after recruit keep referring to the "family" feel around the program now. I don't like bashing the former staff since I do believe they gave effort, but it feels like the current staff are actually changing the culture around the program rather than just talking about changing the culture. That's a much needed breath of fresh air.

Ryan do you typically see this many athletes "blown away" by how "different" a program was? I'm just wondering how much we should chalk up to CBJ and his staffs recruiting and how much to just a 18 year old being swayed by the "big" stage/flashy show for the first time ?

This young man would NEVER have visited KLnoxville with Dooley here. Probably wouldn't have even heard from Tennessee. Dooley stole money for 3 years from Tennessee because he didn't do his job...................Derek you suck a blue egg.
