The Matchups: Vols-Vandy

Sounds like vandy has this game wrapped up. Maybe the D can get a couple stops.

not so fast my friend..im going to disagree on the edge for Vandy in the running game. Stacy is banged up, and their O Line is undersized. I like our chances there. When Vandy passes, though, it's a concern. Rogers is playing pretty well lately and had probably his best game against Ole Miss, and he's not making many mistakes. Worse, as Wes points out, he uses his mobility to buy time, much like Franklin at Mizzou, and that never is good news for us. We have a hard enough time on the back end covering the guys as it is, give the qb some extra time if he breaks contain and big plays result. That is what worries me most about Vandy.

On the plus side, Vandy's pass D played poorly against ole miss, giving up over 400 yards through the air. If Ole Miss can put up numbers like that against Vandy, Bray and Co. should be able to light them up. But we must FINISH drives. Getting a lot of yards between the 20s and then bogging down has been a problem. Vandy is a bend but dont break Defense. We must bend them and them snap them in half.. Thankfully, Vandy is last in the conference in turnovers forced, so hopefully we can win the TO battle, or at least not lose it!

Hard to believe we're even having this discussion. Please don't call it an upset when the Vols put it all together Saturday night. Even with a lame duck coach and a losing record, it's Tennessee-Candy for goodness sake. Is nothing sacred? Come on Vols. Like we always do, remember?! GO VOLS!
