VIP Room: Weekend recruiting scoop

Great jobs guys...as always, a thorough recap! Couple observations: 1) encouraging to hear the early comments on S&C. Love the "old school" approach by Lawson & his asst's, but you know he's also all about incorporating the "new school" techniques w/speed, explosion & agility training plus proper nutrition. In his meet the coaches interview w/Kessling, he struck me as a no non-sense, hard core S&C coach that's all about discipline and relentless work ethic. You guys notice how he was complimentary of the new training facility, but more laser focused on how the players step up & put in the work w/the intense grind that Lawson's got tee'd up for 'em...think I saw one comment already about how the puke bucket was deployed during first wkout! 2) stating the obvious on CBJ and the staff's effort on the recruiting trail...they've put in one helluva an effort given the very short timeline to work with. Just getting on the radar with a number of these high-profile recruits and a significant number of them on OV's is a big sign of things to come with future recruiting. From my vantage point, it looks like this staff is giving everything they've got to close out on the 2013 class. Hopefully they can close on a couple of the long shots, but I'm not gonna go into meltdown mode if it doesn't happen. I understand that we've gotta start winning some of these recruiting battles, but no denying that TN's been very late to the party w/most of these guys and that makes it very difficult in the world of SEC recruiting. Give the Butcher & staff a chance to put a solid product on the field in 2013 and a full cycle to develop the long-term relationships that are necessary w/future recruits and we'll start seeing the fruits of that labor in 2014 & beyond.
