Doesn't seem to be a link to Sunersi or Dooley. Interesting, but seems to have a decent track record. Wonder if he will recruit TJ old territory?

It is ridiculous to me that UT would issue an e-mail address knowing, that in today's technological world, it would be found out and still they don't announce or confirm. They need to catch up with reality. Looks like another good hire. Thanks Wes +1

It doesn't have the appeal of a Titans coach or a "big hire" but all I can say is that I trust Dooley.. The guy has ZERO reason to make a stupid hire and say what you want to about the assistants that left but BIG TIME programs wanted them, that's a good thing, IMO

TJ was a very good recruiter, if Conklin is the hire, he has some big shoes to fill on the recruiting side. Doesnt seem like a upgrade, but time will tell.

Maybe from a recruiting standpoint but anytime you can get a Defensive Coordiantor to be a safties coach thats got to be looked at as a positive. Not to mention I would think that coaches from military schools probably do not take much bulls*&t from players and expect alot out of them. Sure its not a big hire but who are you going to convince to come take a split secondary postion that has any big time credintials?

What is disappointing about it, just out of curiosity? Seems like a really good track record and he is coming to coach on DB position, I am fine with it.

The D staff has a lot of greybeards. It's not a bad idea to add a young up and comer. I trust Dooley and Sunseri to get the right guy.

It sure seems as though we could have found someone with a more impressive resume , however Conklin is the hire so let's support him and hope for the best.

Possible subject for future article: career advancement of assistant coaches who have bailed out on their hot-seated head coaches versus loyal assistants who stay the course. Probably too complicated to draw any conclusions. Either way, major college sports is a rough business.
