Three-star wide receiver Josh Smith of Christian Academy of Knoxville (Tenn.) has been committed to Tennessee since June.

I think by recruited over he meant Jones brought in better guys or guys that Smith felt would play over him because they were Jones' guys instead of him.

Yea he's very nervous and excited at the same time, happy for him and very happy that his family is going to get to watch him play locally in knoxville. Very exciting time for sure. Hope this kid does great things for the VOLS.

I watched Smith (CAK) play against Elizabethton (state semi's) in Elizabethton and believe he can make a good contribution for the Vols. He was a good route runner and caught the ball when it was anywhere close. CAK's offense should be close to what the Vols are going to run and that will help him initially. I wish him well in the next 4 years.

I think Smith is kind of guy you can expect to be in the right place at the right time and that's what you need most from a receiver in a spread offense. That, and the ability to catch the football obviously and all indications are that he's good at that also.
