  • This may seem a bit elementary but would y'all line out the differences between an "Official visit", an "unofficial visit" a "Junior day visit" a "camp visit" etc

What is allowed and what is not, who pays for what, why Junior day is not just for juniors, does a camp experience count as an unofficial visit and are those unlimited? Plus anything else lurking in the details. Thanks for a great forum. T

  • This is based only on what I've picked up from Ryan and the other posters, but an official visit is when a student-athlete has travel, meals and lodging paid for by the university. They are allowed 5 during their senior year and the schools are also limited on how many official visits they can host.

An unofficial visit is unlimited, based on the student's ability to travel and pay his own way. Same way for the camps - the student/athlete must pay their own way.

Ryan or some of the other more knowledgeable posters can expand on this better, but I can offer a cliff note version.
