But all of the 3-stars were seniors, other than Johnny Football of course. Several of the 4 & 5-star guys were either sophomores or juniors, and one (Gurley) was a freshman.
I think a lot of people misinterpret the intent of the ranking system. A player's star rating is more of an idicator of his ability to make an early impact than anything else. It's common to see 3-star players turn out to be All-Conference or All-Americans, but you rarely see a 3-star player make an early impact.
