I think it would be pertinent to talk about how the state, and therefore the school, got the nickname Volunteers. I tell my TX husband all the time that we are the real UT because, were it not for all of the TN volunteers helping them in the wars, there likely wouldn't even be a TX, much less a University of TX. :) Also, we are the colors orange and white due to the colors of the daisies planted on the hill which was visible from the stadium before the North end zone seating was added.
Places to hit after the game - OCI and Toddy's.
Traditions - what the actual fight song is and how Rocky Top came to be the adopted fight song.

I haven't lived in the Knoxville area in years so I can't comment on the best places to eat. As far as traditions go, I think that's been covered. I always enjoyed watching the band march to the stadium. Some of the more notable alumni and figures associated with Tennessee not mentioned so far are:
Doug Atkins (Top 100 players of all time) Paul Finebaum (excuse me while I get the taste out of my mouth) Woody Paige (ESPN Around the Horn) Al Wilson (one of my favorite all-time Vols) Jason Witten (football) Melvin Stewart (swimming) Candace Parker (basketball) Tamika Catchings (basketball) Bernard King, Ernie Grunfeld - The Ernie and Bernie Show (basketball) Justin Gatlin (track) Gene Wojciechowski (ESPN) Willie Gault (football) Jack (Hacksaw) Reynolds (football) Condredge Holloway (football) Bowden Wyatt (football) George Cafego (football) Frank Emanuel (football) Kieth Delong (football) Jamie Rotella (football) Bobby Majors (football) Jackie Walker (football) John Henderson (football) Leonard Little (football) Steve Kiner (football)
For me, the list could go on forever. I'm sure that Aggie fans are a loyal breed just as Tennessee fans are. The one difference that might exist is that the University of Tennessee is "the" state school. I would dare say that 90% of Tennessee fans have never attended the school. If you are a Tennesseean, you are a Vol.
I welcome the Aggie fans to the SEC and hope they enjoy the tremendous pride that all the SEC fans have in their football teams.

Restaurant- Calhoun's is pretty top notch for Ribs, steaks, and anything else on the menu. Other quality options are Connors Steak and Seafood, and Knoxville's Downtown Grill and Brewery. Attractions: The Old City is pretty cool. The Strip down has a few good bars if that's your thing.
Game-day traditions: The Vol Navy-travel to the stadium by boat and have a good time. The Vol Walk-watch the players and coaches march to the stadium. Salute To The Hill- The Pride of Southland Marching Band's March to the stadium which precludes with stopping and turning towards The Hill upon which Ayers Hall sits. The Pregame show for UT, which starts at 12-14 minutes before the game. The Show feature the POWER T, V O L S spellout, and of course the Opening of the T when the team runs onto the field.
Notable famous alumni Peyton Manning, Reggie White, General Neyland, Johny Majors, Dickey, Eric Berry, Jamal Lewis, Jon Henderson, Albert Haynesworth, Al Wilson, Deon Grant. Jabari Greer, Jon Chavis
UT is known for having a strong pride in winning and achieving and expecting excellence.
Aggie fans should expect to have a good time win/lose most UT fans are fairly sportmanlike and as long as you don't do anything foolish, expect a good roadtrip
