A Word From A Cardinal Fan

  • You guys gave us a serious run for our money. You've caused thousands of us to invest heavily in Pepcid. In the end the only two variables we had in our favor were money and our AD Tom Jurich. To see where we've come from in ALL sports under his lead is nothing short of unbelievable.

I'm not here to gloat. I'm mainly here to thank you as a group. Many times during this process, I've visited your site. I cannot remember a single instance where any of your fans were talking negatively about our school, our administration, our coaches, or our fans. Sure, we know we aren't at you level, but we love our University and our athletic programs. I want to acknowledge the overall high level of class you guys exhibit. We certainly hope you guys find a high-caliber coach who takes you back to your rightful spot in the football food chain.

I can offer one suggestion to you. Look very, very, very hard at Bobby Petrino. We were told on very good authority that if you guys lured Strong away, Tom Jurich's list of replacements had only one name on it. He's an SOB, but while he was here, that SOB was 41-9 with an Orange Bowl victory. You guys aren't looking for someone who's going to teach Sunday School, you're hiring someone to win football games without breaking NCAA Rules. He fits that bill.

Again, best of luck in your search.

    I hate Kentucky.

  • Man, we are so sorry you didn't get the slime ball Petrino!

  • i appreciate your sentiments, but no way. He lied to the AD, the president, and the rest of the school. He put the university at risk of an embarrassing and expensive lawsuit. To hell with that. I'd rather we hired a 6th grade coach from Bismarck North Dakota as head coach with Mitt Romney as DC and Whoopi Goldberg as OC.

Since Strong is a richer man because of this, don't let it be in vain. Beat Florida. Thanks for the post but in all sincerity, it didn't make me feel any less nauseous. +1

Agreed Petrino can't be trusted. You would have immediate success but would know if he was coming or going.

First, thanks for your visit and congrats on keeping Chuck Muscles. I have a best buddy with UofL ties and have a lot of love for the school and the town.

As for Petrino, I'll say this again: it's not his slimy morals that are keeping him from getting hired, it's the fair hiring/EOE violation he committed by hiring his mistress to a publicly funded job. That's not merely offensive or crooked, that's a crime. A big one.

  • The biggest thing that UL has going for it is that some guys are just more comfortable on a smaller stage. Like Cutcliffe, Strong prefers to be a football coach at a basketball school in a weak conference.

Hey I75VOL............nice dig but take a real good look in the mirror. You are right that we played in a weaker conference and with the move to the ACC will still play in a weaker but respectable conference. Yea your stadium holds 100K but we house 50K and play in a state of the art stadium with room to grow. But take a look in the mirror...........28-34 over the last 5 years. 12-28 in the SEC over the last 5 years in the SEC. 2-14 over the last 2-years in the SEC...........doesn't look like the "Top 5 Football Coaching Destination" that many of the die hard UT fans want to throw in the face of Card Nation. You've been turned down by a number of coaches this time around.........you guys are starting to look more like the next door mat of the SEC.

You can't pay him more money than us..............you can't give hive an easier rode to a potential National Championship game..........you can't give him a NICER stadium.......you can't give his family a better community to grow up in...............UT doesn't have the Athletic Department that UL has (which is evident).............on and on and on.
