I like the fact that Simmons touches on why star ratings alone don't tell the entire story about a recruit.

Agree tntoak just can't understand how Dooley and staff never offered, the last time I checked Knoxville was still in upper east Tennessee.

You can not just go by speed and high school ability and just automaticlly plug someone in as a starter as freshman. They will not know that til he gets on the field in August.

This points to the unusual situation TN has in it's own state. I doubt very seriously that he is the only player in the state like this.

Tennessee has to maintain great relationships with as many of the TN high school head coaches as they can. They also can't rely on the recruiting services to evaluate the elite level athletes in TN. They have to be great talent evaluators as well as great recruiters. We have missed out on too many players like Randall Cobb.

I think Swafford from iv'e read is a lot better than a 2 star, just like Foreman should possibly be a 4. Don't know if that's the case but I would suspect he has some game i don't think it's like were burning a scholly but if the kid developes he's our's for the takeing a greyshirt is low risk high reward IMO. I may be wrong but I don't think he's guaranteed a scholorship in 14, could someone verify the rules when it comes to greyshirting I know he has to pay his own way this year but will he count in the 14 class regardles of what happens. I just like the fact CBJ and Co. is going after TN kids that have passion about UT football. That is what our program has lacked for years. Get a bunch of kids on the team that have always eat, breathed, and slept UT football and watch what happens on that field every single down.
