Saturday wasn’t so much a scrimmage as it was a regular practice with some scrimmage periods at the end, but every rep is counted in UT's search for a first-team quarterback.

You think it's possible that both Peterman and Worley could split time this fall? Not sure if that would be a good or bad.
Do not need a rotating QB situation. You know the saying, if you have 2 QB's then really don't have 1.
Glad to see Worley make a somewhat mobile play even if it didn't technically count.
2013. Team 117. Beginning of the new Era.
I believe if Peterman has a grasp of this offense by Summer he'll be our starter this Fall..
AMEN, I really want Worley to win it, purely because he's done the time and IMHO deserves to get his shot at starting from Game 1. He does however need to EARN that right too, so in the end I'm pulling for him, but I wont be ticked if he ultimately doesnt start. I really think his game exp will win out come fall. It's been shown time and again you can be the best practice player ever and not perform at the same level in a actual game. We KNOW Worley can compete, he did "ok" for a freshman when Dooley burned his redshirt. He wasn't the reason we lost the games he started all by himself. Freshman aren't expected to be perfect and he'd had to ahve been for us to win those games. (Still think Simms should have played in that SC game though)
Early on, rotating may make sense for a couple of reasons. One, we may not be able to "break a tie" until actual game play, and two, neither may be able to mentally handle the speed of the new offense with a snap expected 15 sec. after the previous play's whistle, and they can be coached up every other play that way.
Ideally, and eventually, though, you want one guy or the other to take it over. I don't care who it is, as long as he knows what he's doing.
"Bravely taking to his feet, he beat a very brave retreat." Sir Robin's Minstrels.
"Give him six" "We don't give a damn about the whole state of Alabama"
I like the competition as it will make both of them better. Earlier comments about one of them coming out of Spring with the starting job may not necessarily be true or a good thing. I'd like the competition to be well into fall camp with a starter named before game week - hopefully not a rotating situation as some have suggested. And quite frankly, I don't see a reason for a rotating QB - these guys bring the same thing to the role. For some reason, I'm not so concerned with the QB position. I believe both of these guys have skills and can be coached. That part is reason enough for optimism.
I don't care who wins the qb battle as long as someone can downright establish himself as the leader heading into the season. I like the way CBJ and Co promote competition. This is the way to get most out of players involved in position battles. It also can reveal who will stand up to the challenge and persevere and also who might fall under the pressure. Man, I can't wait till September!
