Bball Predictions

  • This is a two part question. What do you think the score will be against the Big Blue on Saturday and how many games do you see this Tennessee team winning next year? I think Tennessee wins 66-60 and controls the game from the tip. Look for Stokes to post another double double and Golden to perform well. I see this team winning 25+ games next year with a trip to the elite 8. Thoughts?

  • KY loosing Noel really hurt them as he is a force to be reckoned with. I do believe we win the game but I think it will be a close game. I will say 62-59.

    Next year will really be a telling year. We were dealt a tough break when arguably our best player, Maymon, was injured before the season. Having him back and the additions we have I think we will be a tough team to stop. We should have a stout defense as we already do, but I think our offense will be more in line and we might even break 70 regularly haha. I think we win 25+ games as well. I am not sure where we will go in the tourny but we will make it.

    I actually am trying to not get too hyped up. Just like I try to not get very depressed when they lose. The team is improving, but Vandy is not that good and neither is USCe. I am still worried about this weekend. This team has lost at home to Ole Miss and Georgia. I think both of those teams are worse than a Noel-less UK. Are they beatable? Yes. I still think that Golden needs to show he is more consistent.

    I am hopeful for next year because I think the addition of Maymon and hubbs can help tremendously. I think they should make the tourney next year. Its hard to predict how far they will go until we see how Maymon reacts to a year off and how good Hubbs really is

    I wouldnt give up on the possibility of the tourney this year. It might sound crazy, but Tennessee's schedule the rest of the way is not super difficult. The hardest game is at home against a team that UT has controlled of late(FL). UT could get on a roll and finish 11-7/10-8 in the conference and could be a SEC tourney run away from the bubble. Golden must be consistent for that to happen.

  • I hope you guys are right with your blowout predictions, I would love to see some quality wins after a tough stretch with more than a few close losses. As to the second part, I would think that UT could win all the remaining games but Mizzou and UF if they can maintain their high level of play from last night against a few more formidable opponents. vols

    Poythress, Goodwin and Harrow had 30 combined

    Noel had 6 blocks and Wiltjer had 2....

    Noel also had 9 rebounds and 12 points

    We need to keep Wiltjer from getting 17 again and the other 3 need to be held at that 30 pt or below.

    I think we win 65-60, but could also lose if our guard play doesn't stay the same. I don't want to get carried away after beating two mediocre teams on the road in USCe and Candy, who are 203 and 159 respectively in the RPI. We're playing much better, but we live and die with Trae Golden or whomever is running PG.

    As far as next year, I think about 22 games is fair enough. We don't get any better at PG and Hubbs is fantastic, but we absolutely must have perimeter play and a PG to let Stokes go to work. Sweet 16 maybe, but it will be a new adventure for almost all of the team, so that has to play a factor.
