What a big miss for Tennessee. One writer described it as a gut punch, and I think many of us felt that way when he made his announcement.
That said, best of luck to Bell. I hope he succeeds at Ohio State and I hope Tennessee succeeds without him.

Big surprise. I feel deflated. Hate to see anyone pick Ohio State
Oh well, pick up the pieces and move on.
UT will be ok without him. There is still a lot of talent in this class.

Bellamy won't sign with UT, but Fords a good possibility..I heard that dual threat QB signed with UT and we've still got a shot with Johnson top 100 type defensive player.

I was really shocked by this. I really really really thought we had this guy locked up. The good news is we still have JMR. That said though, we needed the both of them in this class. 2014 class just became that much more important!

As a VFL myself, former athlete, and UT grad, I must say that I agree with absgovols. I don't think we should say things like "I hope he is a bust," but I do question him being a lifelong Vol fan. Every Year we see kids turn down scholarships from other schools to stay home and play for THIER team. I find it hard to say you are a lifelong Vol fan and when your program needs you the most during a time of excitement and promise, and then choose to go to OSU. He is no VFL, but I wish him the best.

It's one thing to be a UT fan. It's an entirely different thing to see UT as the best option for your future. I'm not going to question his previous allegiance to UT simply because he decided to pursue an opportunity he perceives to be better. I have many friends who grew up fans of a particular school, but decided to attend another school. You may have friends who did similar things. It doesn't mean they didn't care about UT -- it means they cared more about fulfilling their personal goals. And I sure hope we all care more about our level of success than we do about a college football team.

Whether it was the smoke and mirrors that Urban (Oscar) Meyer put up or a genuine belief that OSU was the place for him, he is only one recruit. He could have gotten arrested, hurt, or may not have made that college transition at UT aka Bryce Brown. I'm not gonna panic about this, next year is the year of the "Legacy Class" which is much more important. Let's hope CBJ can get Todd Kelley, the Berry twins, Jalen Hurd, Dillon Bates, and the rest for a top 5 class next year.
