Coming off his official visit to Tennessee last weekend, Florida State defensive end commitment Davin Bellamy received a visit this week from new Vols coach Butch Jones.

  • I observed, and I could be wrong, but the approach by CBJ is considerably different than CDD. There seems to be more passion and aggressiveness with the new staff. CDD seemed to take a more business approach. I am really enjoying the effort, given the short period of time, this staff putting forth. My reservations are with the X's and O's. Only time will tell! I don't expect an SEC championship, but hope for improvement. With leadership and improvement, comes quality players and championships. JMO

Hahaha....yes it is! And Lord I'm sorry for that right there and be with the starving pygmies down in New Guinea.....(Channeling some Larry the Cable Guy on GoVols247 today)!

Seriously, CBJ, keep working it and let's steal Bellamy from FSU!! Need to close strong with Bellamy, Lawson, Bell, and Green or Ford!! GBO.....VFL!

Spot on. CBJ really is able to connect to the recruits. I don't recall every reading these kinds of comments about CDD. Not saying it didn't happen, but I love hearing the positive feedback of the recruits, their coaches and their families after meeting CBJ. I hope that energy translates to the field, too!
    Go Vols!

  • Sounds like another GR8 job by CBJ & the UT staff... win, lose or draw... they have REALLY developed enthusiasm for the Football Program and have come on and closing strong, representing the Vols! GBO!! Excited to see how Feb. 6th turns out.

  • I love how consistant this coaching staff is with reaching out to recruits. CBJ & co. are doing a great job.. building a genuine relationship is crucial from the get-go with young kids. Keep it up CBJ!

Totally agree. New coaches and new schemes mean allot of bumps at the beginning of the road. If they can weather the early storm and win some games I think CBJ and staff will bring a huge amount of talent back to UT.

  • Bellamy would be a great one to sign, but I have a better feeling about Lawson than I do about Bellamy. Lawson seemed really excited after the OV. Bellamy--well it feels like we are on the outside looking in at Auburn still. But hey, I hope they both come. Vols!!
