Board Suggestion: Inbox notification

I'd love a pop up of some sort to let me know I have a message in the inbox. As it is I always make a note to look up in the top right of the screen.
Would love it to either be more obvious or a pop up when I first come to the site.

This - I've actually missed messages because the "notification" isn't noticeable at all unless you're deliberately looking for it.
