  • I'll make my predicition. I shouldn't say this but I feel it so I'm going to say it. If they start Bray or let him play more than three series I say they get beat. He is the most selfish player I've seen in all my years of watching football. He is the one person that causes more confusion to a team than anyone I have ever saw. I hate to point one person out but it's clear that he doesn't care and the players around him feel the same way.

colt, I must respectfully disagree. I hope that with all of the talk about last year's loss, that Bray will want to go out on a high note. If he does just go through the motions today, his biggest worry may not be about what success in the NFL he may have, but whether or not he can be successful in life in general. Surely he has enough backbone to prove that he can succeed.

I think this is a little harsh. I don't think Bray's indifferent and I'm skeptical he's selfish. I think he tends to throw in the towel in some games (esp. early this season). I wonder if he couldn't get motivated for Vandy because of the distraction of rumors about Dooley's "hotseat." I think he's got more maturing to do, including having more heart and fighting through things when he's inclined to lose interest.

The kid's got a great arm, is a heck of an athlete and in many situations is a great QB. He needs to work on the weaker parts of his game, most of which are between the ears.

  • I'd add something else: this entire team, Bray included, has been through a disappointing career at UT. As some players have said "We didn't come here to lose." Fans get tied in knots when UT losses, but we have less at stake, really, than the players do. We didn't put in long hours in the off-season to get ready for this fall, nor risk traumatic injury and the surgery and rehab and career uncertainty that follows. Our future livelihood doesn't depend on how well the players do every week, nor are we going to go through the tumult of adjusting to yet another new position coach, coordinator & head coach next year, have to learn the 2nd or 3rd new system, etc. The players themselves have suffered more this year than fans -- and will continue to next year.

I hope people get behind the players for the seniors' (and some juniors') last game and wish them well. This season will be bad enough for players already without fans making it worse in the last game of the season.
