I predict Palardy will miss at least one, either XP or FG AND he has one tipped or blocked. I'm sorry I just have no confidence in this guy. Hope I'm way off.

Over-all I agree with pretty much each of these. The only one that I am not sure about is TN winning the turnover battle. I know this isn't totally the case, but it just feels like it has been forever sense we had a DE that could take the ball away on a regular bases. I keep going back and forth on the final outcome, but right now I think we win something like 28-24. Honestly, I'm of the opinion that even an ugly win is a win so I will take what we can get.

I've actually gotten a good feeling, for once, about Palardy in this fall camp, b/c of an interview he gave talking about what he's done differently to prepare. He said he almost always had something hurt in the past, and stuff like that almost always messes up your mechanics.
IMO, though, the most important factor needed on PATs and FGs is height, to prevent blocks, some by our own linemen's butts. For the last two years, our kicker's biggest problem is he couldn't get it up. Fuh reel, doh.

I agree with some above that the special teams, particularly the return game, will have an affect on the game.

This is probably a amateur question, but Wes can you elaborate on what makes NCSU secondary so good at "setting traps" for opposing QBs? I know that every team tries to disguise their coverages, but what sets apart NC State?

REEALLY bold predictions: DY makes at least one play over 50 yards on offense and leads the team in rushing and receiving; McCullers makes at least one NCSt player withdraw from school and move back home; All of my remote controls remain intact for the entire game.

Hmmm!!! Really bold predictions from some VOL fans. Not Sure they have followed the State improvement after the fall off for a few years from the Phillip Rivers (A neighbor of my during his HS days) days as the great NCST QB. A player AL, AUB, and TN should be recruited as a LB. Anyway pulling for the VOLs to live up to at least some of the hype.

Kevin didn't do bold predictions last year. He just did game predictions in our Pick 'Em Party contest. This year, as I mentioned yesterday, we just kind of forgot to ask him to do picks. But part of that is because he's pretty busy these days and has more on his plate than he did a year ago. We'll see if he wants to join the party next week.
