Tennessee coach Derek Dooley said Friday that Davante Bourque is “not a part of our team” after the freshman tailback from Crowley, La., abruptly left the team last week.

Sigh. Very disappointing.

I'm just glad there's some closure to the situation, and now everyone can move on.
Wish the best for him. Maybe he can get another chance somewhere once he gets his issues straightened out.
good luck young man hope u get your issues worked out... on the other hand the q watson kid seems to be real...
It always sucks when u loose someone with alot of talent. But i think Alden Hill looks the part now we need to see uf he can produce.
I hope he can get his life together and move on with the next chapter.
No big surprise. I was reading an LSU message board back in February and they were saying good riddance about Bourque. They were all saying he wasn't a team player and that his attitude was awful. At the time, I chalked it up as sour grapes but it looks like they were right.
Sounds sad...and that football should be on the back burner. Hope he gets things resolved

I wish him the best of luck, but I think in the long run, it's a decision he'll end up regretting.
I don't know a lot about the situation, but this feels more like a young man with some serious problems and not just a big ego kind of thing. Hope the kid gets the help he needs and eventually uses his tremendous talent.
Maybe the lick he took from McCullers made him realize he was playing with the big boys.
Ryan with his decommitment from two previous schools that drew some concern from some fans... Do you think that the coaches are A.) Stunned by this and did not ever expect something like this or B) He was a high risk but high talented kid that we had room for and was willing to take the chance on...
That is now that we have hindsight
This is sad news but without any further details, I can only wish him the best. He is not the first and he will not be the last. I think we need to treat the young man with respect and hope he works things out...though obviously I hope he does not come back to haunt us one day.

Hopefully the kid takes the time he needs and straightens himself out. I hate that we lost such a talent, but i'm confident in what we have in the backfield and wish nothing but the best for the guy. I'd hate to think someone with as much talent as him wouldn't be able to capitalize on it and, at a minimum, get a degree and set himself up for for success in the future.
Adds another scholly for next year. See ya.
