For what it's worth, Pope's Twitter bio says he's a "Sports Editorial Assistant" for the News Sentinel. From what I know about our partners at the News Sentinel, that means he works on the sports desk. In other words, he's not a full-time writer for them, and I have never met him or heard of him.
Not in any way trying to discredit him, but before somebody runs off and starts saying a News Sentinel reporter is saying this ... well, that's not entirely true.

yeah I was just asking if anybody saw it lol I mean I don't know why he would say something like that but look how crazy it has gotten Im just waiting on the news from Wes or Ryan!
