What i wanna know is why everyone is just blameing bray? Bray didnt let floridas QB score a TD when he shouldve been sacked for a loss. Bray didnt let their QB run for a 30 or 40 yard 1st down in the 4th quarter. I guess what im asking is where is the blame that falls on the defense that gave up 3 touchdowns in the last 20 minutes? I aint seen hardly anyone blame them for that its all been put on brays shoulders.

No one player won or lost the game but we are noticing a definite, troubling pattern with our quarterback. He is the leader of the offense and to a large extent the entire team. When he gets his dauber down, it spreads.

No team is going far when its quarterback gets cranial rectitis. Someone like Andy Kelly, with a fraction of Bray's physical talent, would likely have rallied his troops to win that game.

Wes, I'd like to hear more from former players like Swain or Ainge, would not watching the film have been an option with PF? I can see where it might help sometimes, but at this point, given the number of games like this over the years, i think making yourself or your team watch it stops being an option.

I find it really hard to believe the QBs don't have meetings where they watch film with Chaney and go over the game.

My guess is Bray didn't go back and watch extra film.

    But that's just a guess.

This would ease my mind if they at minimum have meetings with and watch film with Chaney. I choose to believe they at least do this as the minimum. Hopefully the context is in this light and not that they do not watch any film if they opt not to.

Not going back and watching extra film is much more understandable. Heck, I don't get paid thousands of dollars to coach nor am I D1 athlete. Thanks for the info, Wes.

I don't think that anyone is saying Bray is 100% to blame. This just happens to be an article on one certain player, therefore all the discussion here is about that one certain player.

Pretty sure no fan, coach or player would blame Bray completely.

  • I wonder if anyone or a couple of guys on defense went to Tyler and said how would you like to have another shot at them. After one of the TD's Florida scored, I mean Florida is a good team. But someone on defense should have boosted Tyler up like Al Wilson, and Billy Rattliff did back in the day. That's the way you play the game and become champions. If the offense doesn't do it the Defense has to pick them up.

  • The very most important and first thing TB has to do is GROW UP and act like a man. Refusing to shake hands after the Florida game is ridiculous and then the answers he gave in his interview by Tim Priest were too short (3-4 words) and child like. I say "GROW UP" AND "ACT LIKE A MAN". Not every thing in life will go your way.

  • Too much hype and too many predictions of a win going into this game for a team that has had little success to handle ! nono

  • Bray is certainly not the problem for this team. This game reflected what the suspension of key plays can do for a team. Another TE rather than having to play an addition tackle and a playmaker WR that lead the SEC in receptions last season could have made a huge difference. But they are not there because of their own actions and we move and hopefully develop their replacements.

  • I can see why you would want to not watch and just move on, but it is also important at some point to remove yourself emotionally from the second half and watch it objectively so you can see the net effect of what went wrong and improve and learn from it. I hope at some point down the road he will watch it and learn from it.

Phil watched enough film for everyone.

  • The only way you do not repeat your mistakes is by taking a good long look at them and learning from them. I was ready to say that the coaching staff dropped the ball on this until I saw Chaney's comments saying that He and Bray watched the film together. I can understand a college kid not wanting to look at his uglies, but the coaches should be the ones in control not the quarterback. I hope they all watched the second half because the team failed not just Bray! If they do not learn from their mistakes they will repeat them!! And I for one am ready for us to stop being insane(doing the same thing expecting different results) and learn from our mistakes. It's time for a change, time to take the next step. I bleed orange, I love the Vols and I think we have a very good team this year. I believe we can break through this year, but we have to learn from our mistakes. I am tired of seeing Tennessee down , but this team has got to rally around each other and learn from this. Learn to believe and keep fighting no matter what if Tennessee football is going to return to glory. GO BIG ORANGE!!!!!!!

  • Tee Martin won games with his legs (Florida and Syracuse in 98 come to mind) Peyton scored a few TD's on naked bootlegs. Casey Clausen scrambled for more than one first down and was the undisputed master of baiting guys into "late" hits at the sideline boundary. Ainge and this guy act like running with the ball or even eluding the rush is an unnatural act. College football has changed and the modern game with athletic pass rushers requires a quarterback that can move a little bit. Our last two have been cigar store indians. I'm not asking for RGIII, but we need more than a mannekin. Look how Driskel beat us with his legs.

From one Bill B to another. I don't think Bray is the only problem not but a long shot, but I do think he displays a symptom. I'm getting a little weary of west coast QB's Little too much sand in their ears and who-knows-what between their ears, with apologies to Casey who seemed to savor visiting stadiums all over the South. Ainge acted and Bray acts like a guy who is just passing through. Amazingly everyone seems focused on Bray and no one is talking about the four or five plays in the second half where the defense was so inept it defied description. Pretty tough to outscore a team that scores everytime it gets the ball.
