It wasn’t just that there were several reasons to move big UT safety Brent Brewer to linebacker in the new scheme. It’s that there wasn’t a single reason not do it, really.

Thanks Wes!... and way to keep a great attitude Mr Brewer!
I like this move a lot. Brewer is a very good athlete obviously based on his background as a player in the Brewers organization, but he is not an Eric Berry type of athlete. Wes do you think because of holes at some positions on the defense this year that UT's defensive staff will use Brewer as more of a Safety in the box like EB was used in during his last year at UT and if that happens would UT run a lot of 4-2-5 with Brewer in the box to stop the run and lay big hits? That is what I would like to see because I think Brewer would be perfect for that role.

If we look back Al Wilson was originally a CB converted to LB..I think Brewer has exceptional qualities that will allow him to play well at the OLB position. He can beat most tackles on the edge and TE's won't blow by him like the WR's did last season. Now, if he can stay healthy the whole season..
Ive always liked brewer but hes kind of like eric gordan flashes of greatness but not all the way there. I think he could really shine at linebacker.
Brewer brings it! I like hearing that he is learning the position. With his abilities, he can be a real force if he plays smart.
BUTCH IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. GO VOLS!
I've got to say it's a very smart move his athletic ability and size will make him a good fit at LB...
Gosh I am ready for it to be FOOTBALL TIME IN TENNESSEE!!!....
To me it's an obvious move. My reaction to Dooley moving him to LB was, "Duh", followed by astonishment when they didn't keep him there for more than a week.
His frame just lends itself to that position, and he's really fast. If they can put him in position to play full speed and not have to think too much, I think this helps us and Brent a lot.
