Great series, thanks. I would love to see CBJ sit down for interviews with y'all on a regular basis.
Question for you: I understand that contact has been made with Coach Fulmer, do you think Coach Jones will build an ongoing relationship and pull from his vast knowledge and recruiting contacts and would CPF be open to helping his alma mater?

In all honesty, now might be the time to bring in Fulmer in some fashion. When Dooley took over, it was still too close to his tenure, so there was still a lot of tension there. With the program now being three coaches and one AD removed from Fulmer's run here, I could see Fulmer being more involved on some level. While I don't think it would be on an Xs & Os level, I could see him working in fundraising, perhaps even with the VFL program to some extent, especially now that the doors have been opened back up for the alumni of this program.

Fulmer told someone close to me that Dooley called him on his first day of being hired. Said something to the effect of "you and i both know you should still be the coach of this team" and asked for his support, etc. Thought it was a classy move by Dooley. Kiffin on the other hand waited about 6 months before reaching out and did so through an assistant.
As for getting Fulmer more involved, that would not have happened as long as Hamilton was there. I bet Philip would have given anything if Hart had replaced Hamilton when he was still coaching.
Sounds like Coach Jones really gets it in terms of reaching out to former players, etc. Great stuff Wes!

Great series. I really like our new staff. Coach Jones is a very passionate person, who realizes the importance of family. Balance is key. Cause if momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. I am so excited to see what happens NSD, I take off every year just to experience it all. Can't wait for spring practice, summer drills and fall preparation for the season of 2013-14. Lets go. VFL!!!
