Interested to see what Butch has to say about our defense... Do we have no talent or were we just horribly coached and players were playing slower than what they are capable of.

probably a little of both, most of the time to me they looked confused and were thinking too much.

I'm hoping that our defense, especially our linebackers and safeties are faster than what they showed last year. When you are thinking too much, which it looked like we were doing way too much last year, you play slow. I'm hoping that changes this year. Otherwise, we are foing to have to overhaul 90% of our defensive personnel.

guys im going to throw this out there..and i know everyone here at some time or another..ive had a boss that was just a complete jackass.well working for him i didnt go out my way to make him look good on the job..but i done my job but nothing extra for him..now another time i had this boss and i worked my tailend off for him and went out my way to make sure things was done right if he wasnt around..because he had my back..and i had his and everyone liked him.
thats just human nature...and i could see alot this in the past at ut..take these kids and they love butch ..instead of giving 70% they will give it 100%
and that will make a huge difference this coming season.
does this make since..ive been there done that..go team jones

The guy looks and sounds like a football coach all the way. He's going to hug'em and then he 's going to kick in the butt if needed. I love the confidence. He has a vision and it's apparent his past teams have bought in. Merry Christmas Vol fans. Be safe

Still like CBJ a lot, but he can talk for a half hour and not say anything at all. I guess being a politician is in the job description for college football coaches, lol.
