Butch Jones Type of QB...

  • I think Peterman will win the QB job and he reminds me a lot of this kid below. Ran Butch Jones offense very well.

  • I haven't seen any film on Peterman but I thought the descriptions of him were that he is mobile but not the kind of guy that's gonna make a lot of big plays with this feet. Am I wrong?

I think Peterman has the ability to make plays on his feet. Sounds like the descriptions you're referencing undersold his mobility.

I think Peterman gives Jones the ability to run his entire offense. Worley hamstrings him a little bit, and he has a noodle arm.

you could be right and i agree ..but it should be worleys job to lose if that happens..worley has stood with us ..if i remember right he competed very well as freshman and give worley all he wanted for the 2 spot..but worley already had been playing and having game time exp..ide rather stick with him or maybe even use both..but at the end of the day the quarterback gives us the best chance to win im all for.

i see alot of times this year if bray would have ran he could have made a first down but throwed it away
i compare peterman to a tim tebow type of quarterback..he could work out well for us.

he does have a noodle arm

  • I'm leaning toward Peterman winning the job too. I've actually seen Worley in action at the college level and have heard he's a very bright kid, but although I haven't seen Peterman outside of his high school film, I've heard he is just a better passer and more athletic, which will be huge assets with both of them having to learn a new system. I think both can bring us some wins though. So it's nice to have options like that.

Had a radar gun on his and Brays throws at the Vandy game and they had Worley in the 50s. That is Not a "noodle arm "!p

  • The only way I think Worley wins it is if Peterman has trouble mentally. If Worley can run the O better then I'd rather have him until Peterman gets everything down.

I read yesterday (I think on this site) that Jones wanted Peterman very badly when he was at Cincinnati. That should tell you something about his ability to run Jones' offense.

On the other hand, the University sat us next to Worley's grandparents for all of the road games that we attended last season and they were lovely people. So I'm a bit torn.

  • Regardless of who wins the QB job in 2013, Worley or Peterman, Bray leaving early will make us better at the QB position in 2014, which otherwise looks like it could be a really tough year for UT.

Yeah he doesn't have a noodle arm. I believe it was said that both Bray and Peterman have a better arm, but Bray has a better arm than most NFL QBs and Peterman was apparently very impressive too. So that doesn't mean Worley's arm is bad.

  • Peterman's measurables definitely outshine Worley's which is why I believe he will be our QB next year. They're both starting from ground zero learning the new offense so no one has the advantage there. Peterman's senior highlight film is impressive and definitely proves he is capable of moving the chains with his feet. He is a special athlete that both Wes and Ryan have said can spin it every bit as good as Bray. Watch that highlight film. I can't believe he wasn't more highly recruited.

No offense to you, Wes, or Ryan... but there might not be a better passer in the country than Bray. I'll have to see that to believe it.

  • Haha I love that highlight. The 7-on-7 clip at the end is an amazing display of talent!

  • I went to the Akron game and watched them all during warm-ups. After seeing Peterman's highlights then comparing his arm to Worley's that day...I've been high on Peterman ever since. His throwing distance far outdoes Worley's. Obviously there is a ton more to evaluate but that really stuck out to me.

  • What I like about Peterman almost as much as his mobility is his ability to throw accurately on the run. Some throws he made while scrambling were very impressive.

As for that mobility, to be able to add plays like the quarterback draw to an offense is huge. He looked like a wildcat QB on some of those goalline runs.

I will say this, though. If Peterman earns the job, it will be tough for us to hold onto Worley. He has patiently waited behind one guy, and if he sees it about to happen again, he will transfer.

Not sure if you are aware, but TB had 3600 yards, 34 tds with only 12 ints and a paltry 8 sacks last year.. Those are video game numbers. There is ZERO chance that we are better at the qb position with TB leaving early.

was referencing TallBrad's post above. forgot to include the quote. Didnt mean you RockyTopATL.
