Butch Jones has pretty impressive bio. Just googled it and read. I believe he just might be a young go getter. At this moment I'm ready to try anyone.

I might add he's presumably turned down two jobs waiting for a call from Hart. Seems committed to UT.

Who would have thought we would be here a week ago. Now he looks like the smartest guy in the world. When he turned down Kentucky it's like he knew what would happen with our search. I just don't know if hiring him does anything for us period. Dooley is laughing somewhere with his first 100,000.

Hey guys sorry about whats been going on with the coaching job. Its hard to believe no one wants this job. You can't tell me this job isn't better then Auburn or Arkansas. I think a good coach who you guys should be going after is Mark Dantonio at Michigan State. He has coached under Saban and Tressel and won a NC when he the D coach at Ohio State. His style of football would play well in the SEC. So why not?

sparty is about to run that guy out on a rail. Got a daughter whose a sophomore there now and dantonio is making the fans crazy. Why don't you send us Hoke and you take dantonio?

this is exactly what I am worried about..the point is NOT to hire the first guy who can fog a mirror and mouth the word "yes", its to hire an elite coach who will get us back to competing for conference titles. Go back to the drawing board, start thinking outside the box and find the guy who will do that!

Trust me sparty isn't running anyone out they like to bitch but he has been the best coach they have had since Nick Saban was there. Seems like he wants to get out tho Hoke and Urban are making things hard on the other BIG coachs.

can only speak for myself but I would take Hoke in a hot minute. He's an outstanding recruiter and motivator.

Yeah since he has been at Michigan we have had top 5 recruiting classes. Players seem to love playing for him.

I agree. The problem, though, is that UT fans want to hire a guy who does not exist. A top flight, elite coach who's willing to leave an established program to try and rebuild Tennessee. People don't realize that Jones is a good coach. Great coaches all start off somewhere. He's got a 50-27 record as a head coach. That's not bad. Buch Davis is like 87-77 and has a ton of NCAA baggage. I'm not saying that I would have hired Butch Jones with some other guys still a possibility, but I do think he'd make a good coach.
