Bye Week Activities

  • Without the stresses of having to worry about a UT game this weekend, what is everyone doing to relax in the midst of the football season. I will be watching playoff baseball, attending the UNC vs VT football game, golfing, and probably taking a few naps. As much as I love UT, this year as well as the last several have been tough, and I am ready for a weekend where I don't have to stress through a close game or a loss.

  • I'll be having a really long Saturday regardless. My day starts early with the LSAT at 8AM, which means I get up at 6:30. This test is so very mentally draining. Then I work at 4, probably till 12 or 1 the next morning. After work, Ill most likely be getting stupid drunk. I need it after stressing out over this test for the past 3 months, haha.

  • Coming into the office to get some work done in the a.m. and then I plan to watch FL vs LSU and GA vs USCe. I will be pulling for FL to upset LSU and for UGA to expose weaknesses in USCe.

  • I took the LSAT last year twice and it is one of the worst things you have to suffer through. Good Luck. Where are you looking at for law school?

I'm going for my 2nd time also. It's rough dude, 5-35 minute sections, plus the writing section. 5+ hours of pure hell. I got a 148 my first time around. Took a prep class, and now I'm shooting for a 155-160, somewhere in that range. I don't have a certain number of law schools yet, but I'm looking in-state and out-of-state. Wouldn't mind traveling somewhere, but I'd also love to stay close to my family too, so we'll see. I'm looking at Belmont, UT, and Memphis, for in-state. For out-of-state, UGA, LSU, Louisville, among several others. Maybe UNC. Got plenty of options. I know I'll be writing plenty of personal statements over the next couple of months.

  • Ive been through it as well. Im at Ole Miss right now and its pretty awesome plus its a really good deal. I got a 156 on my LSAT which I was happy with. Make sure your letters of recommendation are very good because those play a big part in the schools determining if you are a good candidate. Best of luck to you and try to have some fun with it cause law school will take its toll on you

Thanks dude. I've got 2 letters of recommendations from a juvenile court magistrate and a Juvenile Court Clerk. Still trying to secure one or two more good recommendations though. Some say the personal statements are more important than the recommendations are, though. We'll see, its a long process. Where else did you apple besides Ole Miss?

  • I'm taking my daughter to her first high school football game tonight, then dropping her off at the exwifes for the weekend. However she flying out of Nashville Sat to visit her boyfriend in San Diego(Navy) and is dropping her off at her mother's Sat before she leaves.. So I get to spend the first weekend of Fall break without my daughter, but I have her according to the papers for Fall break. Really stinks being nice sometimes...still have most of 8 of the 10 days to get my time in. Got lots planned for during the week next week...kind of exciting knowing I won't have to deal with the ex-wife for a few days, she's wont be back til the 14th late.

Flew into NYC Wednesday night. Started the drive up the Hudson yesterday and spent the night in Haines Falls in the Catskills. Will drive to Wilmington, VT today and spend the weekend at a B & B in the Green Mtns. The leaves are within 48 hours of peak...now if the sun would shine.

  • High school game tonight, then back for baby duty through the weekend. My wife has to work. I'll be taking Mr. Davin to see some of my former youth players get tore up on Sunday afternoon. They're having a rough season without me and some of the kids that were on the team last season.

  • KeystoneUTK and his wife are throwing my fiance and I a "Stock the Bar" party tomorrow night (perfect timing with the bye week). I'm sure we'll be watching all of the other games and drinking a few home brews.
