I was talking to him on twitter and I said y'all keep your heads up and he said there head is held high and told me vandy better be ready for a fight because they are about to release some anger on the little brother lol his exact words! I thought I would share that with y'all !

I'd prefer them to release some textbook tackling, good coverage, and outside containment rather than anger.

Has nothing to do with "smack talking", it has to do with this defense has DONE NOTHING to show they have the ability to stop a middle school team. This team has shown they can NOT win a close game. What's going to change this week?

Oh I agree with you there trust me I am tired of this defense more than anybody but vandy will not score more than 35 on us I know that they will choke just like every year! But yeah I hear ya bro

Well, I agree with you that Vandy will most likely win, but for a different reason. I don't see this bunch as being a "win one for the gipper" sort, and expect them to be flat after last Saturday and the meeting yesterday with Dooley where he almost certainly strongly implied if not outright told them he was canned. And I also hope I'm wrong, just like you.
But even though I am frustrated and disappointed, I'm not mad, especially this far removed from the emotion of Saturday's game. JMO, but life's too short to get this worked up over this stuff. A football team not doing very well can be depressing, and for lifelong fans like most of us, that's doubly so, but it's not like someone found out they have cancer.
Stated differently: caring's good, but caring "too much" can give you a coronary when your team is losing.

All of the "torches and pitchforks" folks have made it clear they don't give rodent's rear what happens in non-SEC games--unless we lose 'em, and then they'd want to add torture to the firing on Dooley's way out the door.
In vfl's defense, even though he would have been better served to state that, "we can't win a close game unless the opposing defense is horrible," Troy's defense was arguably the worst we've faced all year, and IMO, wasn't as good as Georgia State's.
As I now look back on all our close losses, I'll admit I struggle with that fine line between "snakebit" bad luck, and caving under pressure, and think we had a little bit of both at work.
