Caldwell-Pope pushes Dawgs past UT

For the past several seasons, games like Wednesday's have been games Tennessee has found ways to win at home and Georgia has found ways to lose on the road. But things change.

  • Great article as usual. This team wont quit but its just not good without maymon and No Pg. Jmo but Coach martin is losing the fan base quickly ( not me yet) but hes going to have to start building for next year

  • Pope and Gaines shot 80% from the floor!! How often does that happen?? If McRae and Richardson had shot 80% we would have been on the winning end

  • I have serious doubts about CCM's ability to coach at this level. How many more times do we have to hear during the post game show that "well the guys just came out sluggish" or "we just didn't make enough plays to win" or "well you just have to credit______________for playing a good game and wanting it more than we did". I have held my tongue and am still trying to stay classy about this, but we are out coached nearly every night. This team has talent...it's no final four team, but it definitely should be a tourney team. It is extremely frustrating to spend good money for season tickets and get this product for your money...not acceptable. The effort is not there and the fundamentals are not there. We are losing games to teams we should destroy. I love these guys, and am a huge Vol hoops fan, but I must say that I have reached my breaking point with frustration. These guys are not being coached...plain and simple. I think the world of CCM as a man and as a mentor, but I now have 0% confidence in his ability to coach at this level. I am confident that he gets one more year, but anything short of a tourney appearance and possibly a win or two will be CCM's demise at UT. I hope he can change things. However, anyone who thinks that just by adding 1-2 guys to this roster without significant changes to the schemes and coaching will get us back to being a national threat is crazy. Just my 2 cents.
