Carr has been the recruit that I have felt was a "must have" in this class. This kid has the speed and size to come in and help early and often. I like that he is talking about the next four years in orange, but I cannot help this feeling that tells me this is another 99.9 situation. Let's see what CBJ can do. In some ways I like that we are the first visit that he wants to make, while on the other hand I wish we were last to talk to him before the phones go silent. GBO.

Thanks Ryan, +1. With his size do you see him ultimately as a tackle in the 4-3 or does he have the speed and talent for a jumbo DE?

Don't see any need to worry because there isn't anything "we" can do. If he wants to be a Vol, then fine and we welcome him. If not, then hit the road and don't let the door hit you in the a$$ on the way out of town. Commitment: doesn't mean anything these days among young folks. It's easy: don't commit if you aren't sure.
If a youngster "signs on the dotted line" then I will get excited about him being a Vol and will support him in every way I can.

Point taken but most guys who are being recruited by top tier schools are pretty confident of their ability to play "anywhere", including Bama.

I think (and hope) he's still a Vol but, as you noted, Saban didn't get where he is with lackluster recruiting skills.

If we cant seal the deal on this kid we should just be completely ashamed of our staff! you can not win if your letting the top players in your state go to a conference rival. IMO losing instate kids liked carr is unacceptable!

Agree. Carr wants to feel comfortable with TN. This visit is the "closer". He is a big piece of this recruiting class and I think he knows it. He will play a lot from the very beginning, especially as we return to a dedicated 4-3.

Vols!!

If Carr does stay committed, where do you think he'll line up? He's listed at 6-6 and 270...seems a bit "heavy" for a defensive end in a 4-3. Do you see him being moved inside?
