Charlie Strong makes more $$ than Steve Spurrier and Mark Richt

  • On their show today, Scott Van Pelt and Ryan Russillio just roasted Louisville for paying $4 million to Charlie Strong. As they said, if Charlie Strong is worth $4 million, then Nick Saban should ask for $10 million. They called it "insane".

Strong would be the third highest paid coach in the SEC behind only Saban and Miles (and only because Miles just got a raise). All that for a football coach at a basketball school, in a basketball state playing in a basketball conference. It pays to be in the right place at the right time. Crazy man, just crazy.

not for long..better believe Saban and Miles have already asked for raises. Muschamp too.

On every payday from now on, Charlie will sing the praises of the University of Tennessee. Hell, he might even be singing "Rocky Top."

  • He should have been given 4 million from Tennessee since the 3.7 mill offer wasn't enough

Saban and Miles are the only coaches in the SEC who earn more than Strong. Think about that. Think about what Spurrier and Richt have accomplished and then this guy gets $4 million to coach at at place with worse facilities than Vanderbilt. It's comical.

I wonder what the next conversation between Pitino and Jurich will be like.

I hear you, but consider that pretty soon, considering the TV money, college coaches of the best programs will make as much as the top NFL coaches.

Wouldn't have made a difference...I'm increasingly convinced that the bigger back story w/all these NO's is Cheek and his inept leadership. FIRE Cheek & get the acedemic issues addressed.

Says the guy who's never seen our facilities in person. Squeezing 100k fatasses into a bleacher-filled eyesore does not equal a great stadium. Rage on.

LOL Oh if you only knew how jealous you sounded right there...

    UT facilities > UL facilities.

    Fact.

    Game over, try again.

Really? So you guys grossly overpaid and kept the coach. Name calling, though? Seriously? I'm not going to say anything about your stadium named after pizza, because I've never seen it. People who are fans of programs all over the country plan trips to see our "eyesore" and leave impressed. Never heard that about UofL's field.

Just curious, when was the last time your stadium was voted the best in the country for game day experience? Top 10? Honorable Mention?

We will find a coach, pay him APPROPRIATELY, continue having more talent and tradition than any team in KY, and get back to our winning ways. Hopefully very soon. But it will happen.

You hit the nail on the head. $4 million a year will be a drop in the bucket by then, especially in the SEC.
