I agree they have to fix C- minus rule, forgein language, transfer credit etc. However I seriously doubt kids are picking schools based on criminal justice degrees. I know there's chatter about that I just don't buy it. There are other equally not as hard majors.

I dont think its a question of how hard the major is but what a young athletic man wants to do with his education. Does he want to be an engineer, an accountant, or does he want to join the FBI? Different strokes for different folks but alot of athletes would rather do something that is more physical than being behind a desk.

So if he is wanting to RS/ train/ practice and play in 2014 and 2015.....you would not want that? I think that would be an ideal situation since he prob would only play very little this year behind 2 top OTs that will be drafted in a year + Bullard still might be our 3rd best OT if we needed one bc of injury. He might not be willing to RS but if he is I think that is ideal for UT and esp if he is good. Adding a year to train and learn our blocking scheme etc could mean great things not only for us but for his chances at the next level as a lot of OLinemen RS

Yea bro but you can't teach 6'6 320lbs. After these coaches get to work with him he will be a tremendous gain for our program. Quit being a Debbie downer. He's a 3 star and has great size and wants to be a VOL. it sounds to me like butch is selling the program well to kids that want to come in and play.

A statistics course is required that may not be required in a regular criminal justice major other than that my guess is it's not significantly harder. If UT doesn't have a transfer agreement with a juco or any college then how the credits are transferred will be case by case.

Why is is "Debbie Downer" when someone has an opinion about a three star recruit with a limited offer list not being that great? Granted, I don't know if Clay will succeed or not in the SEC, but I can fully understand the doubts. Fact is we need linemen who can block the best defensive linemen in the nation (SEC defensive linemen). When I see three stars and a small offer list, I have some doubts too. Call me Debbie Downer all you want, but I am not wearing the rose colored glasses that make every three star recruit the next hidden gem who will shock the world.

Not sure if it applies over the entire university, but I tried to transfer into the UT business school and was rejected because I had more than 32 total credit hours from another univerisity. I guess they don't want someone taking classes somewhere easier and then transferring in to get the UT degree.

FBI does not take criminal justice major graduates without at least 7 years law enforcement experience either civilian or military. FBI right now is taking mostly people with foreign language skills, accountants and computer guys. Very competitive tough job to get. really Criminal Justice degrees are pretty much only good for local law enforcement jobs and corrections/probabtion and parole jobs...
