  • We knew the defense would get gashed this year as they adjust to the 3-4 and we know we are not very talented in the secondary. Sunseri made some nice calls. There continues to be fewer obvious blown assignments. Defense played hard for 60 minutes. Nothing to complain about.

Chaney made me and other critics eat crow last night. He proved that his offense is capable of running the ball and that he is capable of coordinating a balanced offense. Great job. Nothing to complain about. But what's up with running it "99% of the time" when we line up in the pistol formation as pointed out by Gary Danielson.

Graham continues to transform Neal and Lane into Legit SEC RBs. Love that guy.

Dooley appears to have control of the team and coaches... See Chaney's improved balance.. See this team not giving up on the road.

Looks like we've got a really good staff. Anyone disagree?

  • After reading numerous comments and watching several shows about the Vols, I couldn't agree with you more 28. I think Coach Dooley showed his true character and integrity by bringing in Coach Sal and doing a complete redo on the defense. He knew he was on the hot seat and knew that a 3-4 would suffer some serious growing pains. However, for the benefit of the PROGRAM, he chose to take this big gamble.

I can't wait until we get to see Coach Dooley and the Vols in Atlanta again in December. It will be sooner than later!

  • We are headed in the right direction although quite slowly. Speaking of slowly, I don't remember a time when our DBs have been this slow relative to competition. We really need to up the team speed component.

  • There is one positive thought that I haven't seen many people talking about that I would like to add to this:

I cannot remember the number of points we left on the field with red zone turnovers last season, but I know it was a lot. I remember in perhaps the Kentucky game when Raijon caught a deep ball and ended up on the three yard line. I literally thought to myself "oh god, he didn't get in." That may have been the possession where we went to the wildcat and the ball went bouncing off his thigh, or they might have been two separate possessions for all I know...

This week, we had 4 TDs of less than 20 yards and we only had one red zone possession that I recall that didn't result in points.

I heard Mike Munchak on the Titans broadcast this morning talking about the importance of finishing drives and it brought this to mind. I'd have to go back and look at the Florida game, but it seems like we have done a much better job coming away with red zone points this season. (Kicking woes aside).

  • Tennessee needs to throw a bit out of the wildcat package. It's too predictable at times. We all know Bray lined up at receiver won't be going up for the catch haha
