I wouldn't say "never". Just like a school having a great run for several years, these things are cyclical. One day things will change and another conference will be regarded as the power conference. But to your credit, who knows how long that will be? All we know is right now the SEC has the most respect.

I am not a Gundy fan, nor am I a fan of Butch Jones for the UT job (even though he's done a good job at UC). All the rest--Fedora included--seem like good gets. Good update, Kevin. Are the commits still hanging in there? Another question--the coaching candidates don't see the campus & facilities before accepting? Are they shown a Powerpoint presentation featuring the facilities during their (non)interviews?

Of course Gundy is a Dooley re-do. Because their previous history and won-loss records are so similar.

For the record, I am fine with anyone on the list. All are excellent coaches and none of them is better than Saban.

I've felt now for several days that Fisher was the guy Hart really wanted. If Fisher won't take the job then the search continues with all the others interviewing ... Gundy, Fedora, Golden and Jones. I think Strong is out of the picture.
As for Gundy ... did you see his team's defense yesterday?
I keep saying it ... Larry Fedora should be the choice. I realize Fisher will get the job if he wants it, but if he doesn't, get Fedora -- at all cost.

I'm hopeful for Strong! We'll see soon!
