Time for Gruden to fish or cut bait. If he wants to be a pro coach, then say so. If he wants to coach at Tennessee, give him an offer and let's move on.

Ok,as if there hasn't been enough speculation on "the Hire",here is some to add.I was listening to the Eric A. Show on TSN yesterday morn.He was saying a booster had told him Butch Davis was a guy that had been possibly talked about.Now I know that his name has a stigma attached to it as a rule breaker.However E.A. Says the source also told him that Butch was going to be exonerated by the NCAA for any wrong doing he was being investigated for way back when.So basically giving him a clean slate so to speak.Has anyone else heard this also?I mean I would rather have him before some of these so called candidates .say what you will ,but the man knows how to recruit & rebuild!

If I had to predict today, I would say that Fedora or Golden is gonna get the hire. Maybe Fisher.

sorry do not want Tuberville....just ask some AU people. yes he had some success but it was always a circus & drama with him. firing coordinators every year it seemed like. the guy that made the recruiting for him was RB coach Gran (who we used to have) who got those Florida players to go to AU. Let Tubby the Face Slapper go somewhere else I say.

I dont see how people say Fisher isn't that good or wouldn't be that good. I am sure if Bowden thinks he is the man he has got to be pretty good. I like Petrino but i do take a lot of flack for saying that and i do take into consideration all the negativity you guys bring up. I dont think TT is the answer. He would have been a good fixer but not a long term solution. I really like Fedora also. I remember him when he was at Middle. Met him once and just seemed like he would do big things in the future. If Gruden is a no and Hart thinks Petrino brings too much neg. publicity i would like to see Fedora.

agree on Fisher. I think if we cannot get Gruden or Stoops then go for Fisher. if he wins against Ga. tech I beleive that makes ACC champ 2 of 3 years as the HC at FSU. I know it is a weak league but at least he is winning it and has an impressive record. I am not opposed to some others mentioned but agree not sure why anyone would be down on Fisher. he beat Muscamp at UF last year and lost at home this year. it happens.

I'm sick of hearing Gruden's name. Either he is interested or he isn't and I wish he would state his case. Think I will take a nap like Rip Van Winkle and wake up in September ready for another year of Vol football and a new coach. Only then will I learn who the new coach is. Goodnight Vol fans..........................

I think Butch Davis is looking better and better as this goes along. If you are wanting a coach to bring in 4 and 5 star players (and upgrade talent in the short term), outside of Gruden, he is the best bet.
