sigh.. still no Tressel. But I do like Franklin's appearance on the list. Say what you want about him, if he can win and recruit at Vandy, he can win and recruit anywhere.

Franklin is such a used car salesman.... After the Vandy game I watched his press conference and the smugness oozing from him was just intolerable. He always acts like he is so focused on the week at hand and it makes me sick! He acted like he didn't even know who they played this coming weekend. C'mon now, really?

Forget Fedora he is not the answer. It has to be Gruden or Stoops I think for Tennessee to be successful. Otherwise it will be a few more years of waiting to get back when the Vols need to be.

What is all this nonsense about Franklin? He's too "smug" and will 'splinter" the fan base? He's exactly what we need. He can recruit, he can coach and his kids play like hell for him. Moreover a coach at UT has to be able to get recruit out side of the state, both regionally and nationally and look at what he's doing at Vanderbilt! Good God can you imagine what he could do at UT? I don't know who the "some people" at UT are but they need to get their heads out of their ***!

I agree. I think some of Franklin's "smugness" is just perceived by us because he coaches our bitter enemy. Just like we feel about Spurier. But he's a hell of a coach (Spurier). I think Franklin also has a lot going for him. He's a great motivator, he has his kids playing above their natural ability, and he is a good recruiter. Isn't that what we're looking for? Not saying he'd be my first choice, but I certainly wouldn't scream to loud if that's who we get.

The thing to remember about petrino is he was good before his fall from grace. You don't know what he will be like now especially from a recruiting standpoint. If not gruden, and I am not convinced he would really like everything about college, I really like Golden. Strong a close second.
