  • +1 on the info. I know it doesn't always translate to game speed but how does Coleman compare to Teague in the speed department?

  • I was really looking forward to seeing what George Bullock brought to the table for us. I hope that [when he's healed] he's able to play head and shoulders above Palardy. I can't remember when we have ever had a kicking game this woeful. On another note, I like the switch with Coleman over Teauge. I hope he adjusts well.

Bullock apparently struggled quite a bit and was very inconsistent in camp before his injury. It sounds like he still has some developing to do once he returns from his injury before he's ready to handle place-kicking or kickoff duties.

He can't be no more inconsistent than the others can he? Do you think it could be the center fault (left handed) or coaching. I thought the turning point was when he missed the extra point. It seem to me it let all the air of everyone sails.

The worst thing about our kicking situation in my opinion is there are 2 kickers at Carson Newman right now (local boys M-West & Greeneville) who could both outkick anybody on our roster and without a doubt would've glady done so for the Vols if offered and shown a little interest from UT.

Can NCAA universities hold "tryouts" in the early summer where graduating high school kickers could come and work through a camp and then be offered a scholarship? Just wondering.

Im sure they could come to summer camps at UT. In the case of these 2 kids a staff member could of jumped in a car on most Fridays and been to their games in 45 minutes or less.

  • Any updates on our freshman group of receivers making any progress. We were hearing updates about their injuries and I haven't heard them mentioned lately or I just missed it.

  • i personally like the move. Teague seems to be a practice stud and a gameday dud. Hes athletic no doubt, but for some reason something is missing on gameday. I think its only a matter of time before we see Bonner's role increase

  • Kind of curious what the reason is that in four recruiting classes, we have little speed at the DB position? It would seem like speed would be one of the top qualities looked for in defensive backs, well especially CBs. With the speedy skill position athletes that most teams in the SEC have, it would seem this would be a priority year in and year out. I know the last few years have been very different and difficult with the coaching changes but sure seems like sometime in those years they would have recruited some guys with SEC quality speed. It's a little late to be thinking about it now but sure hard to run a gambling type defense and leave your corners one on one when they don't have the speed to hang with the wide outs in this league. They may be able to hang speed wise with some of the non conference teams but every team in the SEC has speed at the skill positions on offense.

  • Good info Ryan. Maybe a little defensive shake up is in order. Maybe I should say tweaking. +1 GO VOLS!

  • Sounds like maybe the 40 time needs to be a point of emphasis during recruiting season .
