  • Just said Tennessee is the 8th or 9th best job in all of college football. Not schools with a coach opening, all colleges period.

  • Thanks Colin.
It's definitely a really good job. Plenty of reasons to move it up and down on your own respective list.

  • That is pretty high considering Bama, Uga, UF, Texas, OSU, Michigan, LSU, ND, USC, and Oklahoma.

Not saying he is wrong either, but that is pretty good company.

I've never quite bought UGA's inclusion in that list, though that may be evidence of my bias or ignorance more than anything. But I would think that, historically if not otherwise, UT is really a better football job overall.

In fact, the main argument that I ever hear for UGA is recruiting territory, and while valid, I've just never bought that as a prime factor in school prestige.

  • Back in the last search I remember talk of how it wasn't a very good place to coach because you have to recruit nationally and UT wasn't even in the top 20.

Now I'm hearing its the most desirable place of all the openings. Wonder what's changed.

Guess NincomDooley did enough in recruiting to put us back up there. Thattaboy. Your permanent office at Hutchinson Community Colllege did pan out.

  • On another note, for the most part I've always heard UT above UGA. Remner, we have a much more rich tradition. They've been living off Herschel Walker and a NC in 1980 for decades.

We're second in the SEC for wins, winning percentage, SEC championships and claimed national titles.

We're Tennessee. Everyone else is a contender.

    Lets get back that way.

To your point, I include UGA because of recruiting and their record over the past 10 years. If the UGA job was available today, I don't think many people would view UT as the better job opening.
