Interesting take on this CBJ situation. I am not happy with the hire—or the coaching search in general—but I will support the team regardless of the head coach. My loyalty is to the University of Tennessee. GBO.

thanks wes..i think hes very good hire..have nothing to back it up..other then hes won every where..and with everything hes got at tenn and didnt have at cincy
has to be leg up..im more excited about jones hiring then dooleys hiring

Completely agree Wes---along those same lines Brian Kelly wasn't Brian Kelly and Kevin Sumlin wasn't Kevin Sumlin until they got their high profile jobs. We might have a diamond in the rough--you don't just go out and hire Nick Saban or hinge your hopes on a Jon Gruden. Everybody wants a quick fix---they want instant bang for your buck. People fear the unknown. Let's give Coach Jones a chance---in 3 to 4 years we'll call a Dave Hart a genius or an idiot. GBO! Go Vols!

....and now I'm a believer. Well maybe. Let's see the staff. Either way, good info. Kirby Smart woulda made it a little TOO crimson-Ly around Knoxville. I hope we get a little more orange on the staff and retain a few key pieces. Bring back TEE! Please. Any inside scoop on Tee Martin making a return?

Wes - well said. I have one question though - was Butch Davis even considered by Hart? Because he would have been a big-name hire and would have been a uniter. And we really need both of those right now. We need momemtum and this hire is not creating that.

Excellent read, will be curious to see if the Spread Option takes hold here at UT - have always loved having a mobile QB, ever since I saw UT's Condredge Holloway at UT in the 1970's - I think CBJ will be the guy to get that system installed here, although we've been running pro-style offense for so long it will be a bit of culture shock for me if we do end up in the Spread...
