Not sold on Strong in the least! I've watched 4 Cards game and in almost all Bridgewater had to come out like superman and save the day..Way to many come from behind wins against average teams..His recruiting isn't anything special..Barely cracked the top #25 once and his 2013 class is currently out of the top 40.

Wes,Ryan,Kevin, hypothetical question. If you were Dave Hart, who would be in your realistic top three?
For me, it's Gruden by a large margin, but after researching the others, I'm warming up to Fedora.

I think all the coaches are good, but if UT doesn't get someone who can deliver a top 15 class in February and win atleast two games UT will be picked to lose, alot of the roster improvements will be wasted and gone and we will probably be looking for the next big fish in 2016.
Only Gruden will be able to do both and sell out the stadium. Stoops, Fisher, Strong can do both, but many will take a wait and see approach to game attendance. The others, IMO will not be able to deliver a top 15 class. They are not big enough names.
Just do not believe Mora would give us serious consideration.

ryan, do you think a top 15 recruiting class is realistic in his 1st yr. no matter who is our next coach?
would you not have to flip alot of players to accomplish this?

Bob Diaco SHOULD be a candidate! I know he's has no HC experience but I think Hart is being short-sighted with that policy. This guy is essentially the co-head coach at ND since I doubt that Brian Kelley is doing anything with the defense.

Also, I think UT is missing a great opportunity to talk to two other "failed" NFL guys in Mike Singletary and Herm Edwards. I actually believe these two would be great college coaches because they have a fire and passion that would resonate with 17-22 year olds that I believe is just white noise to pros.

Hopefully Hart will at least consult with our most famous football alumni, Peyton Manning, whom I would think could have a very positive influence on several prospective coaching candidates. Peyton also could help on the financial side. Hart must explore every aspect of probably the most important coaching search in Tennessee football history. Leave no stone unturned in the quest to turn our beloved " Big Orange Football" away from the " dark side". May the "force be with you" Mr. Hart. GO VOLS

Actually I think there is, I know you don't base it on one game but all of these coaches have lost to teams they shouldn't have this year . I don't mind losing near as much when you're not suppose to win but to get beat by not only lower ranked teams but teams clearly with less talent isn't any better than what Dooley did. Plus all of these coaches are unproven in the SEC as head coaches. With that being said I like the list. I'm just glad I'm not making the hire. IMO
