Top247 athlete Jalen Reeves-Maybin of Clarksville, Tenn., stood out on both offense and defense in his Northeast High School team's 41-26 win over Henry County High School.

  • Heck, if we miss on Derrick Green, put JRM at tailback. Dude just does it all.

  • Most important thing is these guys won their games (most). No substitute to understanding and expecting to win. Guys that have lost a lot in HS don't get bothered by losing another game. We need guys that are used to winning so they have a bad taste when they lose.

  • I'm sort of on the fence about Barnes also...every since I read that story on him when he said he doesn't start on his team that just blew my mind away..I Dnt care how loaded his team is if u r not one of the impact players on your HS team I feel we shouldn't extend an offer..but in his case he comes off the bench how can we expect him to make a difference..I'm sorry but I hope he becomes this class version of Khaled Henderson and we replace him with a AJ Johnson/Maggit type of guy..not a Sapp/Crump type

  • Just based of stats alone, I must say the weekly reports haven't been jaw dropping. You can't go off of stats we all know but normally you would expect some more headline type numbers. Maybe when the CAK kid gets back we can have something to get more excited about.

IT TAKES NO TALENT TO HUSTLE

  • I watched Barnes on the Espn game of the week a few weeks back, and he is raw but does have some good athleticism. He plays both OLB/DE and even lines up at DT and helps out on Offense also. His father played in the NFL, I think TN thinks he will continue to get bigger and end up a down lineman (he is about 235 now and easily 6'3). What was weird is that in that game he was lining up at NT and getting double teamed a lot while Nicdemeke (sic) went unblocked much of the time.

If he was in TN hs he would be a top 15 player

  • There is nothing wrong with having players like Sapp and Crump. Not every linebacker can be like Curt or AJ. Some guys have niche roles and they're our best special teamers hands down. I am all for having elite talent all over the field but let's not devalue those guys.

  • Looks like Devondre had a solid game.

  • Every time I read these my thought process is: Yeah, okay, pretty good , pretty good... (JRM) whoa! ... alright pretty good... (Sutton) nice!"

I understand what u r saying and I do not devalue those guys but isn't that what we are complaining about?? Getting gashed and ran right by on the perimeter..well I will use guys like Jac Smith and Jordan Williams for example's because there both athletic physical imposing guys like Barnes but 1 thing you can't coach is insticts..having a nose for the ball..so that is what I was talking about when I refer to guys like AJ and Maggit

  • We will see but I still say if we can win 8 this year then we have to lose 2 commits to feel our needs + our recruiting will have momentum from our HC getting support from Hart (better be) and the buzz of the program.

Who they will be could be 3-4 players for mult reasons.

No way can we fill our needs IMO if we keep all our current ones for sure.
