If George Bullock OR Michael Palardy becomes a reliable SEC caliber kicker. I believe with all my heart if we'd had a decent kicker, even Daniel Lincoln in his worst season, we'd have won another game, maybe two, last season. It changed the way the staff called games last season. No question. If we have any kind of kicker we beat UK last year.

A greatly improved kicking game is essential. It is probably just as important to our chances as an improved running game.
I'm starting to feel very good about the defense. Yes, we will give up some big plays as they learn the new schemes. But a more aggressive defense will make some plays and some of them will be game changers.

Difficult question. UT easily could win nine games without beating FL, GA, AL, or SC and then beat somebody senseless in a bowl for 10 wins so a nine win regular season would be successful. Especially, with a very real possibility that with big numbers UT could lose some prominent JRs to the draft. I would still be somewhat disappointed considering 2013 will bring a more challenging SEC schedule and a much more difficult course to a winning record in conference play.

I was thinking the same thing as I read this thread. Talent-wise I like the starting 22, but we still have depth issues. I think 8-9 wins will be a successful season and is doable if we can stay healthy.

Good stuff Wes. I think the Jay Graham trick is key. You left out "If Jeff Hall is granted another year of eligibility by the NCAA."
