i don't think he was intentionally calling you out.... Just making a comment comparing the two rivalries....

i was thinking the same thing....
Gotta to give the poster a pass though. The poster did use 'boom goes the dynamite in another thread', which comes from the best YouTube clip ever.
Alabama, and it ain't even close. Florida was never a big rival to UT until the conference split into divisions in 1991 following the addition of South Carolina and Arkansas to the conference. That coincided with Spurrier's rise in Gainesville, so it created a rivalry where one had not existed before.
Im about 10 15 miles south of Kentucky border. I know were football school and all but ive grown up with alot of kentucky fans. They have won the basketball we have won the football. Needless to say tgis has been a tuff last 5 months i work with about 20 uk fans i want to beat them by forty in eveything.
The "Third Saturday in October" goes far beyond the 90s, and it always has been the biggest rivalry game for both Alabama and UT, if not the biggest rivalry game in the SEC. Why do you think there was so much discussion over the fate of the annual game between the two schools when A&M and Mizzou were being added to the conference? Tennessee-Alabama is bigger than USC - Notre Dame, Ohio State - Michigan, Oregon - Oregon State ("The Civil War"), even Florida State - Miami.
I think you missed in the original post he asked in ur mind. I was born in 86 so all i remember in my mind is battles with gators. I remeber us dominating bamer now bammer domemating us hasnt been much of a rivalry diring my liftime so i can see where hes comeing from we cant help how old we are
So did I. Born in '86 but based soley on the arrogance of the Bama fanbase they have always been my most hated rival. I don't see their fanbase changing so they will always be my most hated rival. Nothing makes the college football portion of my brain happier than to see a Bama fan whine about losing.

thats a good point, but im just saying that people that were brought up watching Tennessee tear through the tide every year don't have the kind of hate for Alabama that they do for Florida. Tennessee has only beaten FL 5 times since 92'.
You don't get it, younger people saw the Vols wipe the floor with the tide every year, it doesn't really spark a fire when youre blasting through the other team, but yes i agree that in the big picture Alabama will always be the main enemy, especially now that they are on their feet. Like the other guy said, we can't help how old we are.
Yeah youre probably right, it just came across to me as a little disrespectful, as if i wasn't making a valid point about my opinion. It also helps that i'm from Johnson City, Steve Spurrier's hometown, the high school football field is named after him. Being from here, everything FL makes you sick to your stomach.
fair enough.... nothing wrong with a healthy debate....
Our biggest rivalry since 2009 is coaching turnover...
Bama for me cause that's how I was raised. I can see how it can be a "generational" thing though. If George Cafego were here, he'd be saying Vanderbilt.
Florida is a skin rash. Alabama goes to the bone.
I will say this....UT has a number of rivalries depending on who you talk to and including fans of these teams:
Not many teams can claim that many rivalries.
