I was watching in Bonne Terre MO with my 'lucky' UT cup and pin. Still have the pin!
I placed a bunch of bets around school and collected on about half. The other half I got in a bunch of fights over.
Thanks for sharing, man! Great pics!
Notre Dame's just a really, really special place. I know I come from a big Catholic family, but I think everyone can respect the beauty and tradition of that place. One of a kind.

Great pics, LWS! I was at Maryville College, playing Free safety and probably getting my butt handed to me....
Thanks a hundred times over for sharing!
its awesome place Wes. I've been there 4 times with Tennessee and had a great trip everytime.
ever tried Linebacker Club? I've spent very little money in that place because they wouldn't let me!!
I will NEVER miss a chance to go with the Vols there..
Thanks so much for sharing. It's an awesome place and you are correct that there are some really good fans there. +1
I was eight and wasn't there but one of my greatest memories as a Vol fan. The next day in Sunday School I made some craft thanking God for the player (can't think of his name now, from your pics was it Darryl Hardy?) who blocked the field goal. Picked up a shirt at the next home game that had Smokey with the Leprechaun in a headlock. Thanks for Sharing. Great game, great memories.
21 years ago I was 13, I think I was sneaking out and drinking my first beer.
I was with relatives in a cabin with no cable TV. John Ward brought it to life, as he always did.
Great, great victory for Majors and the Vols.
LWSVOL I was 25 and at that game, just moved up to St Louis at 24, had some people I worked with that were and still are ND fans they invited me to the game due to my love for the Vols and it was one of the best games I had seen away from Knoxville. Thank you for bringing back some great memories.
I was eight years old. I don't remember the game, but I do remember sitting on the couch with my parents watching the Vols play. We had the tv on mute and John Ward in the radio. My mom made a five-layer bean dip and my father was screaming at the tv. I remember my mom's reaction the best.
When Notre Dame missed the kick, she came off the couch in excitement and knocked the rest of the dip into the floor.
Great story +1
I also want to thank you again for the DVD's of 'Miracle at South Bend'. I don't have a VCR any longer and was unable to watch.
What a great game. I want to get back to winning some big games ASAP.....not fighting to the wire with HS teams.
I think it was Hardy that blocked it and Miley ran it back for TD right before the half. turned the game around..
Unfortunately I was only 6. Would love to see the Vols go to South Bend
My uncle worked years later in Atlanta with the replacement kicker who missed the kick that day, Rob Leonard. He had no idea this was such a momentous win for Tennessee- said he thought no one remembered that game. We were happy to oblige him with video clips and audio of John Ward.
Your team. All the time.
