Hopefully with this defence we will be lucky to get that. At least we are going to get a new coach be excited about that.
I am starting to get more excited at the thought of a new coach. Gruden has been passed around on here for a couple weeks now. Are there ANY cold hard facts regarding him at this point or is everything up to this point just fan-talk bogus?
That game makes me worry about even getting to 6-6. Mizzou and Vandy are no gimmes. With a defensive performance like that, they are sure losses. This might get really really bad.
The offense will have to play lights out to beat Mizzou and Vandy. They will have to score a ton of points! At this point, I'm not sure we beat both.
Well, if so, you'd best be circumspect about the new coach excitement until you see who he is. Unless and until we go totally in the tank (and I know we're teetering perilously over the edge now), I'm not going to be happy with another non-splash, hope to catch lightning in a bottle, hot, young up-and-comer hire.
I refuse to just "take it on faith" that Hart, the donors, and the other powers that be won't screw up this hire if it comes to that.
If CDD is fired, I of course hope they get it right, but as I feared when Fulmer was fired, it's been close to a comedy of errors since then.
I don't know how anyone other than a multi-millionaire donor could be in anything other than a wait and see mode now: wait to see if we have, ahem, "an opening", and if so, who they hire.
I've still got hope that Dooley turns it around, and that if he's fired, they get the new guy we need to turn it around. But I'm well past having "faith" in either.
